Great Success is Best Achieved by Inspiration

Written by:

If you truly want success you need to be able to get things done. Inspiration, motivation, and encouragement are vital for both you and others that help you. It doesn’t matter if it’s work, home, or wherever, feeling inspired greatly improves your ability to accomplish whatever it is that needs to be done in order to be successful, strive for greatness, or to complete an important project. Maintaining inspiration and the motivation to keep going is even harder, for that you want a good understanding of the objective, clear communication between you and others, and setting small rewards or incentives helps to continue fueling inspiration along the way. This is a list of various methods you can use to help fuel inspiration and motivation, and encourage yourself and others. So in the end you can reach success, and greatness, or bring that important project to completion.

IMPACT AWARENESS
Being aware of the possible consequences from not reaching a goal or completion of something and how it may hinder success can act as a good inspiration to keep pushing forward. When working with others make it a point to let them know how vital their involvement is, along with what could happen for everyone in the event of not being successful especially if it’s a big project. Allow others to see in a non threatening way but more of letting them in on the big picture and how their help with it is so important. Even if you are only working only for yourself, realizing the negative impact of not succeeding is a good motivation to make sure you are doing your best for yourself.

HAVE REWARDS
Little rewards are always nice when you reach a milestone or complete an important task. Providing yourself or others that either work with you or are simply just there to help, a small boost of satisfaction. It also encourages you or others to continue being productive and happy. A pleasing reward need not be anything lavish, a short break and a healthy snack sometimes are enough to give yourself or others a moment to take a breather before moving on to the next step or task. You should always reward yourself and others for accomplishments made. It motivates and inspires the feeling of ‘yes I can do this!’ Knowing you can do it, helps you to continue being productive. Happy people are productive people.

PROVIDE INCENTIVE
When you have others that are helping or working with you. As often and as much as possible you want to provide incentives for opportunities to improve. People look forward to being rewarded with opportunities to better themselves. Whether it’s a pay increase, monetary reward, leadership roles, or even ways to learn more knowledge so they can know how to do other challenging tasks. The more an individual can do to improve themselves, the more they are able to do for you, making it a win-win scenario for both you and them.

CLEAR EXPECTATION
You work better and smarter when you clearly know what you are working towards. These also apply to those who are working with you. Make sure to have a detailed plan of action and lists of instructions on how things will be done. The clearer the understanding of the objective, the higher the chance of successful completion. If you know exactly what it is you want then make sure to have just as clear instructions to follow to obtain the results you want. Everybody works better and smarter when they know exactly what to do.

SETUP TARGET GOALS
Having goals to aim for gives you the inspiration to strive for something. So make sure to break everything down into goals to work towards. Big picture goals, long-game goals, target goals, short-term goals, and even little goals. There are various types of goals you can set up to help keep you and anyone you work with motivated. You can chart things in terms of time, sections of progress, percentage of target achieved, amount of time spent, number of items collected to fulfilling a quota, and so on. So use your imagination and set up something that is visual for tracking a goal so it will be a source of inspiration showing the progress and amount of success you have already achieved.

GENUINELY CARE
Do you have people helping you or working with you? If so make sure you treat them with kindness and respect. When you are nice to people it inspires them to do their best and show mutual respect. Look at it from the opposite point of view. People like to help out however if you just ignore them or worse you’re rude to those who are helping you they are less likely to want to help you. Therefore, they will not do as good of a job with whatever it is they are doing. Moreover. if they feel you don’t care, they tend to try and finish whatever they are doing as quickly as possible just so they can leave. So take the time to be kind and show that you care and appreciate what they are doing for you.

KEEP A TIMETABLE
You will find it much more productive if you set up a timetable for when things need to be completed. Knowing when something needs to be done can be an inspiration, giving a person something to aim for. Ideally, the best mindset is to plug away, chip at it, and hopefully, finish early. When this happens you receive the inner satisfaction of knowing you have time to spare. This in turn motivates you to want to get a head start on the next deadline knowing you have created a small buffer of time where there is now no rush.

However, there are many who tend to procrastinate when they have ample time. Then just before the big deadline they become most productive and focus really hard until the work is done, most often finishing just in the nick of time. Whether it’s you or those you work with, making the best of this type of mindset is simple. Create various small deadlines to meet. As each deadline is met it adds to the final completion of the big task.

Simple example. You need 50 cups of water by 2 pm on the kitchen table. Instead of waiting until 15 minutes before 2 pm and doing it all at once. break it down into smaller goals or deadlines. first, collect 50 cups, 2nd collect trays to carry cups, 3rd fill cups in groups of ten per tray, last move one tray of 10 at a time to the kitchen. The example might be a little too simple however you get the picture. Smaller objectives allow a project to be done at a more relaxed pace which leads to fewer mistakes, in this example not rushing and spilling water.

CREATE A GROUP DYNAMIC
The biggest and easiest source of inspiration and encouragement a person can give to themselves and others they are working with is the sense of being part of a family, group, or team. People who work together as a team work more effectively and efficiently. A type of connection and bonding takes place.

A person works best when they feel like they are an important part of something bigger. Everyone has different talents and skills, which means when problems occur other members can help solve them. In a team, you help each other out which promotes a positive atmosphere. Because of the sense of belonging, and positivity, an individual is inspired to try and do their best for the team or group they work with.

SHOW RECOGNITION
Working by yourself to achieve something can be difficult because you have no one to spur you on. So you have to make sure to take the time to recognize your own accomplishments. If you’re lucky enough to have others helping you or even luckier to have others working with or for you, then it is vital for you to show them recognition for what they are doing. People like to know that their efforts are not being overlooked. Therefore it’s your responsibility to make sure to give them the recognition they have earned and deserve.

If you’re super lucky to have a bunch of people helping you with whatever it is you’re doing make sure from time to time you let them know as a group how much you appreciate all that they are doing. Also, as reasonably often as possible, take the time to give specific appreciation for the efforts and tasks people are doing on a one-on-one basis. You will find that the majority of people will be inspired to do their best for you when they know you recognize and appreciate what they are doing.

GET TO KNOW THEM
Do you want the group of people that are helping you to reach your target goals to do their best? Then you should also want them to be happy to be working with you. The best way for you to achieve this is simply to take the time to get to know them. Take a personal interest in their lives and who they are, what are the things they are hoping to accomplish in their life. The more people realize that you care about them as individuals the happier they are with helping you. It creates a sense of family and belonging, and in general, happy people tend to also be more productive. So take the time to get to know those that are helping you to achieve your goals.

ALLOW THEM TO BE INDEPENDENT
Believe it or not, nobody cares for the idea of someone standing around and micro-managing everything they do. As a matter of fact, it tends to discourage them. You can show encouragement by simply letting them know what the end result is that you are aiming for and then step away. Let them focus on their task. In other words, leave them alone to do their thing. Seriously, would you like it if someone hovered over you all the time watching every move you make? I didn’t think so.

Give clear instructions and then leave them to it, showing them that you are confident in their abilities to complete the task at hand. Afterwards, if the results are not as you hoped for, you can at that time give guidance on how they might be able to improve or they might even come to you asking for advice on something they are uncertain about. Either way, you are giving them the ability to be independent which helps encourage them to learn and grow. Also, it will give you an opportunity to tend to other things allowing for more productivity.

SHOW RESPECT
Whether you have a helping hand or a group of people working with you, always show respect. When you are needing or getting help from others, especially when asking to do a task out of the blue. Respect the fact that they have things they need to get done as well. When asking for them to go above and beyond by requesting a favour or something, they say they will do it for you. Trust that they will get it done as soon as they possibly can. By trusting and respecting someone who is helping you out, they will in the future respond to your requests even more willingly. A little trust and respect can go a long way when it comes to asking for help from others.

ENCOURAGE PROBLEM-SOLVING
A great way to inspire people is to give them a problem to solve. Most people enjoy the progress of achieving a goal so provide opportunities for them to solve an issue for you. Challenges cause you to think. Thinking of a solution to a difficult problem is exciting. When people get excited they get enthusiastic. When people are enthusiastic they are enjoying themselves. So the next time you run into a problem. Share the problem with others and notice how much happier you all are when a solution is found.

ALLOW PEOPLE TO SHINE
Don’t be so over-controlling that you expect people to only do things your way. Let others, no, allow, no, better yet encourage those who work with you to be creative. Encourage them to explore new ways and ideas for doing what needs to be done. By letting go of control and one-way thinking, others could very well come up with ways to do tasks in a better, faster, and/or more efficient way than you. So if they want to try something new or different, encourage them to go ahead and give it a try.

OFFER A BETTER WAY
When you have people working with you or someone comes along to give you a hand it’s not uncommon for them to either not understand what it is you’re trying to accomplish or they simply don’t realize there is a better or particular way to do certain things. The first thing you should do in these situations is realize that most likely they are doing their best and more than likely just lack understanding. In other words, go with the idea that perhaps they don’t realize they’re not doing it the correct way.

Use words of encouragement when letting them know. Suggest you may know a way of doing it a little better, faster, or easier that works for you. Quite often people appreciate knowing a better way of doing things and want to improve. By avoiding direct criticism for doing it wrong and rather suggesting a better way instead. People in general will do their best to improve once they understand better what you want them to do.

DON’T LET THINGS GO STALE
One of the fastest ways to allow inspiration to die is boredom. Never allow yourself or others to fall into a simple common everyday routine. The routines themselves are good, allowing for consistency. However, the downside is its repetitiveness. Doing the same thing every day, all the time, when a person gets used to everything there is to do, there is no more challenge. Once all the challenges have been met you begin to stagnate.

Encouragement to push yourself and/or those working with you to improve is important for inspiration and motivation to stay alive. Make sure to always push yourself and others to do better, advance, and grow. Learn new skills, try new methods, and never settle for the same old, same old practices day in and day out. Don’t allow the process to become stale and boring

MAINTAIN A POSITIVE ATMOSPHERE
The greatest encouragement you can give to yourself along with those helping you to strive for greatness or achieve any type of target goal is positivity. Whatever you and those you’re working with are doing create and maintain a positive and enjoyable atmosphere with your work. Do whatever you can; put up motivational posters, decorate, laugh a little, and smile. The greatest jobs and tasks are those that do not feel like work at all. When people are enjoying what they do they end up feeling they had a happy productive day. The extra bonus is that in general when you enjoy your work you produce better quality results whatever it is you are working on.

HELP THEM GROW
With becoming successful, you can find yourself having to produce more. When this happens your business grows and therefore you likely start to have more people working with and for you. When this happens, it’s a perfect time to encourage some to take on a leadership role. So create opportunities for others to advance and take on more. Let them know how great they are doing and that you want them to grow with you and the company.

KEEP YOUR EAR OPEN AND LISTEN
When you are working with others and becoming successful minor difficulties can begin to occur. For you and everyone you work with communication becomes vital. Not just for understanding your objectives or goals. But also to maintain morale and happiness combined with positive motivation to do better. So for this to happen you need to keep the lines of communication open with yourself and those you’re working with, so that when minor issues come up, you can fix them before they turn into serious complaints and/or major problems. So take the time to open your ears and listen to others, that way you can better understand the situation or circumstances. This will help with solving small problems before they become potentially bigger.

SWITCH THINGS UP WHEN POSSIBLE
If you want to remain motivated with inspiration to learn, grow, and expand you need to be stimulated or things will get boring. Don’t allow yourself or others that are working with you to continuously keep doing the same boring thing all the time. Switch it up, and change the routine. If there are various positions or stations have people trade places. This will go a long way in creating enthusiasm and excitement to learn and be challenged. Also, it will help those who are helping you to gain a broader understanding of how everything works together. Keep things interesting while avoiding boredom at the same time.

That my friends brings us to the end. Now I realize that many of the suggestions given here are more about providing motivation, encouragement, and inspiration to those that you are working with however, there are plenty for you to use for yourself. Also, remember even if you are one of those individuals that mostly work alone, I am sure there are opportunities where you could invite friends or family to help you. So whether by yourself or working with others, use these pointers to boost inspiration with whatever you do; a side hustle, a small business, running a company, or even just doing things around your home to help spur success in all that you do.

What a pleasantly long and informative post. For me, imagining the benefits doesn’t work really well, but imagining the pain of not doing something works amazing. I noticed the effort you’ve put into this, Razz. Lovely stuff!

Thank you very much Stuart. I really appreciate you saying that. I think I understand. You being your own boss, means if you do not write your 1000 words a day or worse not at all means you do not finish your book. No future book, no future funds. However even more so being your own boss means you need encouragement and inspiration even more so. So be extra nice to yourself today, take some time to relax, have fun, and laugh a little. You work yourself way to hard. Thanks for the nice comment and have a fantastic day.
