I’ve always loved quotes and started collecting them when I was about 13 years old after seeing some on the walls at my school. I still have the binder I started writing them in and it has filled up over the years.
There is power in words and some people seem to have a way with words that speaks to people in a deep way. I feel the words and have spent uncountable hours contemplating many of these famous words of wisdom. They’ve helped me through hard times and taught me alot of life lessons that will be with me forever.
I am adding this category to our blog so I can share some of my favourites with you. I will share the quote, what it means to me or what I get from it and I invite you to share your thoughts and your favourite quotes as well.

Every kind act, every smile, and every word of compassion goes out into the world and the effects ripple out like water after a rock is tossed in. We may think ‘anything I do is no big deal or I can’t do anything worthwhile.’ But every bit of good is worthwhile, especially to the recipient of that kindness.
There is no way of knowing how far the ripples of our act of kindness go. And the best part is that often they grow. Though we may never know for sure we have to have faith that our act of doing good made a difference to someone.
In the end, I think the lesson is that even if you can’t do big things in important places do what you can, where you are, with what you have. It all makes a difference and it all adds up. The more people grasp this and do it the more likely we can someday overwhelm the world with goodness.
I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.
