Doubt and insecurity are very common and natural for children. Yet as parents we want them to be confident and proud. Give them a more positive outlook with positive affirmations. I worked with children and families for many years and just love doing these kinds of activities with them. Children are like sponges and will absorb whatever they are surrounded with. Surround them with positivity and they will become happy, positive people. Here are some fun, easy ways to introduce positive affirmation with your kids or any kids you care for.

Great positive affirmation activities kids will enjoy
Collage
Create an affirmation collage. Have your child or children make themselves a poster of their favourite ‘I am’ statements. If your child is young you can help them come up with statements which will also open up conversation where you can tell them lots of positives about themselves. Then they can hang it in their room to remind them of all the good things about them.
Songs
Many children love making up songs to sing. Some like changing the words to songs they already know. So a fun and exciting way to remember and repeat some positive affirmations is to make a silly or fun song for them. This way they are giving themselves a boost of encouragement throughout their day whenever they sing it. Maybe they’ll even teach it to their friends and spread the encouragement.
Cards
A method that some adults use is creating positive affirmation cards. You can also create them with children. To make it more fun, use coloured pieces of paper and crayons or markers. Add cute stickers or have them draw pictures on their cards. When done, stick them on the fridge, mirror, doors, where ever they like.

Jar
Have your child(ren) help make up a jar full of random affirmations. Each morning your child(ren) can reach in, pick one and read it out loud. You can start a conversation about what it means and how it is a true statement about them then they can try and find a way to demonstrate that affirmation as they go about their day.
Game
Use a whiteboard on the fridge. In the morning write an affirmation on the board. The game is for each member of the family to fulfill the affirmation during the day. Before supper, your child can write down on the whiteboard how they fulfilled the morning affirmation. If by chance, someone has not accomplished it yet, during supper you can discuss how we (members of the family) can find a way to accomplish that affirmation before bedtime. This way it turns into a family game.

Here is a short list of some super easy-to-remember positive affirmations you can use to get your child started. Later you can easily change things up by including statements like. I feel strong, courageous, and so on.
I am brave
I am honest
I am happy
I am smart
I am creative
I am happy to share
I am respectful of others
I am important
I am good
I am a good friend
I am kind
I am friendly
I am helpful
The most important part is having fun with it. Children and adults learn better and faster when they are doing something they enjoy. Please share this post with anyone you know that has children. Every child can benefit from more positivity in their life.
