CHECK POINT MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENT

Written by:

Are you hoping for something in your life? Hoping for something is kinda like dreaming. You can dream all you want however unless you do something, it may never turn into anything real.

SO HOW DO YOU TURN HOPES AND DREAMS INTO REALITY?

The easy answer is to chase your dreams. Chasing your dreams means you actually decided on a goal or target goal to go after. That’s the dream part. The other thing that also needs to be done is to do something that leads you in the direction you are aiming for. That is the chase part.

AWESOME SO THAT’S ALL YOU HAVE TO DO “CHASE YOUR DREAMS”?

For some maybe, however, from my experience, no. Reaching your target goal, many times, requires time, patience and most of all learning new skills. For the most part, it depends on how big your target goal or dream is. The bigger and more challenging ones tend to have a learning curve. The learning curve can be something different for everyone. It can also be more than one thing. Examples would be, the need for money, physical items, physical skill, mental skills, time, location, connections, and so on and so on.

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE IT EASIER TO GET THERE?

That is where mini-goals, checkpoints, and milestones come in. Let’s pretend you’re a little child with nothing but ambition. You want to make a birdhouse for Grandma because she likes birds. So you have a dream/target goal = birdhouse. You’re ready to chase it but wait, a birdhouse won’t appear out of nowhere. Make a plan and write it down. Need tools, wood, and nails. Since we don’t know how long it will take to complete the project you want to set up a list of small goals. In this case:

    • goal 1 – find boards
    • goal 2 – find tools to use
    • goal 3 – cut boards
    • goal 4 – make a box
    • goal 5 – drill a big hole in the box
    • goal 6 – paint box.

Target goal complete, bird house for grandma.

SOUNDS DUMB, WHY ARE MINI-GOALS SO IMPORTANT?

It is not about the mini-goal itself. The reason it’s important is because it is a form of motivation for you. Sometimes with a big goal or dream you can run into difficulty. The mini-goals or milestones keep you going. Each time you achieve one, you must celebrate it because it is an accomplishment. When and if you run into any setback or difficulty you are better able to keep moving forward because mini-goals are proof you are getting there. It’s more about you being your own cheerleader and encouraging yourself to keep on going and keep on growing.

    DO YOU USE MILESTONES/CHECKPOINTS?

Here at RazzWorks, absolutely! As a matter of fact, we just completed a couple of them. For some people, they may seem kinda small because they are already so successful. However, to others, it’s something to aim for because we are able to show them that it can be done. If we here at RazzWorks can do it, then so can you. One cool victory we hit one day last month was 101 likes in one day. Yeah! Oh, thank you readers for clicking like and helping this to happen. Also the month ended off super awesome because we got over 2K views for the month. ALSO we hit the 500 plus followers checkpoint . Sweet! That is so nice of you guys to come and visit our RazzWorks website.

In conclusion, I would like to say thank you very much for visiting, viewing, clicking like and clicking subscribe. Most important I hope you enjoyed and/or found our content useful. Just a reminder, the bottom line about milestones is they are important for you because they help encourage you to keep on going and keep on growing with what ever it is you are working on improving in your personal life.

NAME A MILESTONE THAT ENCOURAGES YOU OR YOU HAVE REACHED.
( It can be anything. Like: Finished writing a book, getting a diploma, walked 5 blocks, a promotion,…)

Thank you. It works best with little steps doesn’t it? Whatever the ‘it’ may be.

This is such a brilliant post. Given that most people get frustrated because they do not see immediate results, or they become paralyzed by the enormous amount of effort and time it will take to achieve a goal, taking small steps is vital.

If your goal is to declutter your home, you might start with decluttering one drawer in the kitchen.  That’s it! After that drawer has been decluttered, pick another small step, such as one shelf in your closet.  Break the goal into as many small steps as possible.  Don’t worry about how long it will take to get you there…just focus on the NEXT SMALL STEP and recognize your accomplishments as you go.  Before you know it, you’ll have completed what seemed like an impossible and overwhelming goal of decluttering your entire home. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

Great post. I feel like it ties into the book “Atomic Habits” that I recently read. Particularly with the idea of tracking “mini-goals” that you can check off on your way to the “ultimate” goal. Even with a to-do list, I find satisfaction in being able to cross something off the list. Like “Yay for me! I got something done!”

Yes Rhonda that’s the idea! We always promote small steps, as small as you need to make them. If just writing down your idea is enough for you put it away and come back to it tomorrow. We need small steps so we can have small victories that encourage us to keep going.

You are very right about small or mini goals. When I used to focus on larger goals I was miserable because I felt like I wasn’t progressing enough but focusing on smaller goals leading up to bigger goals really helped. Now I know how far I’ve come and that I’m headed in the right direction.
And a very big congratulations on your blogging milestones, definitely something to celebrate about!
