This is a new series I’m considering doing in the new year. Taking pictures in my own life to provide examples of how we can take a moment to be mindful. Depending on when and why I take a quick snapshot with the camera on the phone. The image could be an example of being mindful, mindfulness, being aware, observing, or perhaps taking a second to be grateful.

The air is getting colder. Taking a moment to be mindful and grateful for having a wood stove in the garage. Enjoyed taking a few seconds to watch the flames dance over the wood.

Spotted this pretty bright leaf reminding me to take a moment to be aware of the fact that there is no snow on the ground. No snow means I do not have to shovel. I’m happy to take 5 minutes to look at all the pretty leaves on the ground in exchange for not shovelling the step or walkway for 20 minutes. I’ll take that trade any day.

Beautiful sky but more important is the fact that I have a roof over my head. Sure it may seem a little strange to be taking a picture of a roof. However, it does make a great example of how you can take 10 to 15 seconds to pause and be mindful of the things we have in our lives.

On this morning the sky was this cool pinkish orange that I thought was awesome. Even though the image does not show the sky exactly like I saw it. I believe it provides a good example of how I’m trying to be in the here and now, this moment. Simply observing the sky and how it glows when the sun comes up in the morning.
Well, that’s it for this issue. Just 4 simple pictures to help give you some ideas on how you can pause for even just a brief moment. So while you strive for greatness or chase your dreams, remember to enjoy the moments as well.
Tell me something you are grateful for.
