ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE IN LIFE?
I’m sure you just said “Yes I am” in your head right now. Having an optimistic mindset is great. But the fact is that the most positive minded individuals among us tend to have room to be more grateful and appreciative of things in life. Learning to truly be thankful is one of the greatest things we can learn to do more of when it comes to self-improvement and personal development. Think of this for a second, what is more important? The ability to do more, faster and better, or to be more appreciative of the good things we already have in our day-to-day lives? So consider the following points we are going over as a way to increase your gratefulness, and appreciation in our ever-evolving journey of life.

TAKE NOTE OF THE THINGS YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR
Grab yourself a notebook and write out a list of things that you are thankful for in life. Once you have recorded all the easy, obvious stuff, it’s time to honestly think about the items you may have overlooked.
Consider the following – having access to clean fresh water – Finding some money in an old pair of pants, purse, or wallet you may have forgotten about – Making it somewhere just in time when things may have slowed you down on the way. Remember something you almost forgot completely about. A kind word from someone that made you smile, perhaps it even made your day.
Whatever it is you thought of or wrote down isn’t the issue here. It’s the fact that you are consciously and seriously thinking about things you may have overlooked that matters. It’s taking the time to appreciate the tiny things in life that you could have ignored.
When you think about and consider the following – it’s the little things that add up and truly cause our overall day to become good or bad. So wouldn’t it be best to make it a habit to recognize and appreciate all the tiny positive things throughout our day to increase the possibility of us feeling like we had a good day?

WHEN THINGS GO BAD, REMEMBER IT COULD BE WORSE
There are bad situations and things that happen, which makes things suck, it’s normal. For example, maybe you ordered something online and it shows up a day or two late. Due to a worldwide virus and you are stuck at home, unable to get out to do stuff, so you’re stuck with communicating with everyone over the internet.
Consider the following fact. The internet has not always been here. So what does that mean exactly? Well years ago if you wanted to order something to be delivered to you you had to go to a general store, look through a magazine and place your order. It was not uncommon to have to wait weeks or months for it to show up.
Also more times than not, it was not brought to your house, instead it showed up at the store you ordered from. So you had to go pick it up yourself. The other thing was you had to write a handwritten letter and mail it out. So if you were stuck at home you could not simply go online and complain how bored you are. You instead had to wait days, weeks, and sometimes months for a reply to the handwritten letter you sent out.
So think how lucky you are to have the internet, where you can communicate face to face on screen whenever you want to. Tons of videos to watch, material to read, and so on. Or the fact you don’t even have to step outside to order something you want, and most of the time you get it within two weeks. Personally, I think it’s amazing.
STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS
I know there are people out there that perhaps have more money, or are more famous. The thing is, so what if someone has more than you? More is not always better. More money tends to bring more problems and stress of its own. Being more famous or popular tends to bring with it less privacy and more scrutiny. Besides, haven’t we already covered being more appreciative of what you do have instead of complaining about what you don’t have?
Also, consider the following things. You are currently reading this, which means you likely have internet access, and obviously, you have a grasp of one of the most used languages around the world. Apparently, you have some free time on your hands to look up and read blogs at your leisure. Also, you’re reading this because you have an interest in improving yourself.
You likely have a decent place to sleep, had something to eat today. What does this all mean? It means you are doing ok. There are tons of people out there that wish they had half of what you have. There are people looking at you as if you were rich and popular and have it all. So, what do you and I really have to complain about? I think we are the lucky ones, we just need to appreciate that fact a little more. Am I wrong?

YOUR LIFE WILL NOT GO ON FOREVER!
Consider the following fact: Your time is limited. If you are lucky you will live to 100 maybe slightly more. What that means is there is a good chance that you have used at least 20-25% of it or more already. Time is something once spent it’s gone, you can’t get it back so we all should, to the best of our abilities, live life to the fullest.
Don’t wait until later, why not start right now and live the rest of your life to its fullest? Don’t waste precious time complaining about this and that, or about things you don’t have. Choose to be grateful, and enjoy what you do have. It’s your life, so it’s truly up to you how you spend it.
REMEMBER TO PAUSE FROM TIME TO TIME
As you strive for greatness or simply live your life to the fullest just try not to get yourself so focused that you forget to realize all the great things you have in your life. The last thing you want to do is focus so much on making it to where you want to be, that you end up looking back and regretting all the things you have missed along your journey. So as a last thought, I ask you to consider the following request. Pause for a moment and take stock of what is good in your life in the here and now.
