Wow, we reached a new milestone thanks to you guys & gals. Roze and I (Razz) just got a notification that we reached 500 LIKES. That is super awesome. Just wanted to thank you, our readers, for clicking that like button each time you did. Your support is what helps us to keep writing.
For many of you out there, I’m sure you understand what I mean when it feels like you are writing into the void. I just want to give a quick reminder to anyone who might be feeling that way, to take courage. If and when you feel like no one is reading. Keep these two points in mind.
Point number 1
Only about 5% of readers ever like or comment on a post that someone writes. I read that on the internet. If that is true that would mean there is over 90% of readers out there reading what you have to say. You just can’t see them. I know some of you are really smart and want to tell me that there are stats that say when someone visits and views. True there are stats, however, I find they are not 100% accurate.
Why do I say the stats are not 100% accurate?
I say this because I also know that you are able to view and read any post via the “READER”. Articles that are read by the reader are not included. It is not counted as a Visit/View unless you go to the author’s web page. This is the reason why sometimes you can have a like or comment however both the visit and view count remains at Zero.
Now to get back to the point. If it is true that only about 5% of people who read your content ever like or comment. That would mean for each like or comment left behind there are about 20 people who have read what you have to say. So this means you should take courage, as much as it might feel like you are writing into the void, really there are ghosts of people who are checking out your content.
Point number 2
Take a moment and pause to consider why you started writing or blogging in the first place. If it was because you just wanted to, or wanted an outlet, a way to express yourself, to help others, to provide some knowledge for others; whatever the reason is, go ahead and keep writing for those reasons. Write what you want, when you want, and as often as you want. Write because you want to, and the less you care about who reads it, the more your creativity and flow will emerge.
Thank you very much, to YOU the reader for your support and encouragement. Life and blogging tend to be an ever-evolving journey. Let us enjoy that journey together.
