5 Simple Ways to be More Positive

Give thanks
Take a couple minutes each day and think of the things you are grateful for. Negativity sneaks in for many of us because we forget about the things we do have. If you’re always stuck on what you don’t have then you will always be negative. Being thankful helps to lift your mood and helps you to appreciate life a little more.

Be mindful
Our lives are so busy that it can cause our thinking to spin out of control, worrying about this and that; stressing about what needs to be done. Taking a few seconds to just pause and observe our surroundings, thoughts and/or feelings helps you to slow down and regain control of your thoughts.

Be nice to yourself
Most people have this inner voice that is thoughts that speak to them. Take time to notice how you refer to yourself. ‘I can’t do this’, ‘..can’t do that.’ and so on. To help turn it around, try using some positive affirmations to strengthen your self-image.

Be kind to yourself

Avoid toxic people
Make a point of decreasing how much time you spend with people who complain about everything in life. While at the same time working on spending some quality time with those who are more optimistic about life. If you know a person who seems to always be in a good mood, let them know and ask them what their secret is.

Stop listening to the world
News, radio, social media, internet, videos, and such tend to always have some negative thing to tell you about. Take a break from it. Don’t just idly take in the negative information all the time. Look for more uplifting music, videos, books, and websites to fill your mind. Take control of the information that floods in and choose to find the things that are more positive.
