You Sure Can Create a Better Self-image

Regardless if you believe it or not, the kind of person you believe you are determines how you live your life. It does not matter how much information you read on how to strive for greatness, or how to reach the top; information on how to reach your target goal, dreams, desires, or what not to do. The truth is, at the core of it all, success or failure will be the result of who you truly believe yourself to be – Your self-image.

So the best thing you can possibly do, if you haven’t already, is to find yourself. Know and understand your true self-image. You need to take the time to consider what you really believe and how you really see yourself.

What is this self-image? Well, it’s a combination of things. Three main things make up your self-image. The first is your perfect-self, the second is your self-perceptions, and the third is how much self-worth you have. Perfect self is pretty much self-explanatory, it’s the super person, the best you can possibly be. The high regard you have for yourself, which includes your values, morals, and even some high standards you may have for yourself. Your self-perception is how you currently look at yourself in your own mind. How you see yourself. How much self-worth you have determines your confidence and how important you feel about yourself.

Now that you know, your personal self-image is the total combination of what you consider to be your ideal perfect-self, self-perception aka what you think of yourself, and your self-worth aka how much you value yourself. You realize better how and why you think the way you do. After thinking over each separate part and what degree of positive or negative determines how you behave and react in life.

I hope your self-discovery concluded with you finding out you have a super positive self-image. Depending on the quality of your self-realization it may not be the same for everyone and therefore your mental self-image might not be as positive as you thought because one of the three main areas might be weaker. That’s ok because now you should also realize that you can improve by choice, regardless of your past or present way of thinking. You can grow and improve how you think or see yourself and build a positive self-image.

Taking the time to find yourself and observing the different parts that make the whole self gives you the understanding that you may have lacked in the past. With awareness comes the ability to make a change. The perfect-self you need not worry about. However, perhaps what you think of yourself needs work. Or maybe you realize you don’t have much confidence in yourself. They can be worked on, and why shouldn’t you?

When you realize and understand that circumstances and people in life can not dictate how you think. That you have the control and power to change your thinking and choose the quality of those thoughts. You will also become empowered with the idea that you have creative control over how you will respond to life. Bang right there, your self-worth is already starting to grow stronger.

Everyone is able to break free from the negativity, anger, guilt, and fear, when and only when we decide to change our thinking patterns and work on how we respond to things that happen or the negativity of other people. If you want to improve your self-worth, then take a stand, and take responsibility for how you feel and how you think. No one can give you a positive self-image, you have to build it yourself by working on the other parts and practicing what you learn.

You have gone and found yourself, great. You might also have to pick yourself up. Not only that, but you may even have to spend some time with yourself. Brush off the old clingy dust of negativity from yourself. Reminding yourself that how and what you think can have a great impact on how you respond emotionally to others. You may have to remind yourself that your thoughts can change your attitude and behaviour. If you want things to change in life, then you have to change the way you think. After all, your thinking pattern determines what you believe and feel about yourself.

Create and/or improve your self-image. Make it a healthy positive one. People who have a good self-image tend to enjoy life more, have a healthier lifestyle, and have stronger and better friendships and family relations. Changing the way you think is something you can enjoy doing. You can use affirmations, positive quotes, and motivational posters. If you are serious about changing your thinking patterns, then take the time to invest in yourself. Find inspiring videos or books, magazines, or a website you like. Know and expect improvement in yourself. Look forward to things working out better in the end. Will everything become perfect? No. However, expecting things to improve increases the odds of things working out, rather than expecting nothing at all. Look for the best. Whatever you expect, you generally tend to find. People usually live up to your expectations so why not expect the best for yourself and others in life?

In the end, changing how you think with continuous work and practice, develops a healthy positive self-image. Having a better, improved belief in who we are and how we see and feel about ourselves attracts others who also have a positive self-image. Because of controlling our thoughts to be more positive, we become more positive. Life becomes more positive and more healthy.
