How to Change These 5 Toxic Habits into Healthy Ones

Written by:

Hitting snooze 5 times before you get up.

Instead put your alarm clock/phone in another room or at least across the room so you are forced to get up to shut it off. Don’t go back to bed!

Skipping breakfast

Instead have something quick and easy like toast, a piece of fruit, or a breakfast bar. Or prepare something the night before like overnight oatmeal or a batch of fresh muffins.

Rushing into your day without a plan.

Instead take 15 minutes first thing in the morning to write a list. Prioritize a few items, no more than 3-5, to definitely get done today.

Spending money on things you don’t need.

Instead put money into a savings account for something special like a vacation, decorating a room or getting a new car. When you feel tempted to go shopping put the money you would spend into the account. Then make plans for it, explore decorating websites, look through travel brochures or research the type of car you want.

Grabbing your phone or tablet every time you have a few minutes or get bored.

Instead keep a journal or sketch pad nearby and use it. If you’re bored and you have the time go for a walk.

Have you taken bad habits and exchanged them for healthier habits? Tell us about it in the comments. You never know who you might be helping.
