Do you believe in yourself? When you think of something you would like to do or change do you end up thinking you can’t because you’re not capable? If so you are underestimating and undermining yourself. Do you lack trust in yourself to succeed? If you do think this, then usually it will cause you to fail. This is because you are sabotaging your own self-worth, self-esteem, and confidence.
Stop that. Look I’ve never met you and possibly never will. However, I have to tell you. I believe in you. You can achieve anything you want, as long as you are reasonable in how to do it. You have the potential to do and achieve great things in your life. It does not matter what you look like, where you came from, how much money you currently have, or even your age. You may not believe it, but I believe in you. Countless others have overcome huge setbacks and succeeded, possibly from worse situations than yours. So if people who may not look the greatest can be models. People who have trouble walking become great athletes. People who can not move their bodies become prized writers. People who can’t speak become hilarious comedians. Then you can achieve great things too. I know you can.
You do not need to think less of yourself. So what if you’re not as educated, you can learn. Look, background, skills, and money, are not the things that make you. You make you. Believing in yourself is what fuels success. So start believing you can do it. I know you can do it, so stop waiting around for everything to be done for you. Pick yourself up and start believing you can do it. Then start doing something about it.

Before you start, I recommend you look around and pick someone to follow. Look for a person you admire. It does not matter if it’s a person in your life, or someone from a book, video, or where ever. Find yourself a leader, master, guru, mentor, or whatever title you want to give them.
Also find your inspiration, as in things that will inspire you to keep at it. Look for motivational movies, tapes, CDs, videos, books, websites, blogs, and podcasts. Create yourself a personal list of content that you can play each day to help keep your energy up. The longer the list the better. After all, my believing in you will not be enough. You need to believe in yourself too. The list will help boost your energy for when it begins to drop. It does drop for everyone, so there is nothing wrong with that. Everybody needs help from time to time. So keep your inspiration material handy and listen to it often.
Ok now get out there and start making your way. Don’t wait for opportunities, instead create them, find them, chase them, and go make your future awesome. You can do it, so go to it.
You know what I believe in you so much that I’m going to throw you a bone to help you get started.

First, make a plan, create a list, and write it down.
To get started you want to write things down so grab something to write on. Choose something you want to do or change. Write it down. It does not matter how big the idea is. If you can’t think of something, then make a list of things you wish you could do or want to try.
Now for the best results, you want to take whatever you chose whether it’s a dream, desire, wish, career, health, whatever. Break it down. Make a guess at how long it would take. Days, months, years. What steps are needed? Break it down more and more. Keep breaking it down until you get to the point where you can start asking yourself the following. What can I do now, or what is the first thing to work towards? What can I do to help me to start moving in that direction? Also, make sure it is something doable. The easier the better.
I’m going to give you an example of how simple you can make it. Let’s say you made a wish or goal to someday be perfectly healthy, looking good, feeling good, and so on. You perhaps went so far as to imagine it say in 10, 30, or even 50 years from now. However currently in your life right now you weigh 300lbs, barely move, and eat junk food all the time.
You picked a mentor and you hear they drink two large jugs of water every day. You on the other hand don’t drink water as a rule. Well, then there is something you can start with. No, I don’t mean start by drinking two jugs of water a day. If you normally don’t drink water at all, then two jugs a day is nuts!
However, you can start by pouring yourself one glass of water at one meal per day. Of course, you can! That easy. So do it! Do it every day until it becomes part of your daily habit. Now you can upgrade your challenge. The next challenge would be each day you will take one sip of water from your glass. That’s right with the first goal I said nothing about drinking the water, only to pour yourself a glass of water. With the new challenge, you can add a condition. If you forget to take a sip, then you challenge yourself to pour a glass of water for a 2nd meal. Bottom line. Make your goals or challenges so small that it’s almost impossible not to do them. I suggest this only because you may have had low self-esteem. I know you can do it, but this allows you to prove to yourself that you can do it too.

Secondly, make a commitment and stick with it.
Regardless of what you choose to pursue you will not get there if you do not focus and plan. We already covered the planning part. Now you need to work on your focus. Due to today’s technology more and more people are distracted by all the apps, media, and advertisements at their fingertips.
It is up to you to stay on course. The best thing you can do for yourself is to commit yourself to work on your idea, dream, goal, or ambition of choice by doing something about it every day. Whether that be to work on a particular step, or dedicate a time slot, or spend at least one hour each day. The type of commitment will be determined by what it is you are working on.
One example is learning a skill. Maybe you chose to learn to play an instrument, use a particular tool, or a special program on your computer. Then you will need a lot of practice. So you make sure you spend at least thirty minutes to an hour every day practicing, working on, or with the instrument, tool, or program.
Another example would be like the one I used in planning. Every day you need a goal or step to achieve. Like walking for example. Every day you take at least one step further than the day before. Basically, you increase the difficulty a tiny bit at a time. This works well if it’s something physical, requiring endurance, strength, or distance.
The main point is you need to every day choose to dedicate your time or energy focusing on what it is you want to accomplish. So make sure to pick something that you truly want and will enjoy. If it’s something you enjoy, you are more likely to be able to stick with it, even when it becomes boring, or more challenging. So give it your full focus. I know you can do it!
Third, Work in the now, but keep the future in mind
Living in the moment is important. As important as it may be, I also suggest at least keeping the future in mind. Set long-term objectives to strive for, while setting up reasonable short-term goals.
So don’t get all wrapped up with achieving the baby steps and forget your real dream. Have a plan with lots of steps and pin it to your wall to remind you where you are heading. I know you are going to make it. By the way, also celebrate all victories, even the small ones. Make sure to mark them down so you will have a track record. It will help to remind you, yes you are making your way to the bigger objective set for the future.

Once you get going, take the time to create a perfect dream/vision board. It’s a type of collage where you paste from magazines pictures and or words showing the things you want to have or be in the future. It will act as a great reminder of where you are heading. As your successes add up, you can start working on other goals and ideas. Don’t take on too many at a time though. But at the same time don’t stop improving, just find a good balance that suits you.
Go with confidence, my friend. We may never meet but I still believe in you. I hope with this message I have provided you with a little bit of motivation or inspiration.
If it turns out that you already have a great self-image, perhaps share it with a friend or family member who could use the encouragement. Thanks for reading, and let me know what you think.
