When you get your personal space and time organized you will automatically receive these awesome, forever, continuing benefits. Let’s dive in and see what little goodies we have here. Then maybe we’ll be motivated to try a little harder to get organized.

- Being organized saves us time. Just think, if you never had to search for your keys, phone, wallet, or glasses, ever again. Wouldn’t that save a lot of time? Also, when we don’t have to search all over for things or wonder what we should do next we free up time we can use for things we enjoy. Spending more time with family and friends having fun instead of dealing with the clutter in our homes.
- It increases your productivity. Knowing where to find all the things you need to do a particular job would naturally help to complete the job faster. Being able to find neatly organized files on your computer would make working on these files faster so you could be more productive.
- Reduces stress and that awful feeling of being overwhelmed. Looking around and seeing a tidy house or tidy office isn’t stress-inducing like a cluttered or untidy space. We see all the ‘stuff’ and imagine having to clean it all up and it just feels like too much to even get started on. A tidy space gives us a sense of peace that we could all use more of.
- Another interesting fact is that we tend to eat healthier when we are organized. Those who live in tidy homes more often make healthy food choices. I’d be happy to test this one as we can always stand to eat healthier.
- Being organized enhances your creativity. When our mind isn’t filled with worries about the clutter all around us it leaves room for our creativity to flourish and grow. I am a creative person by nature so I’d love to gain this benefit for sure.
- Helps you sleep better. This one is more about organizing your schedule and knowing what you are doing and when. With this kind of mindset you go to bed at night knowing this is time for sleeping and you don’t worry about everything else. Your schedule tells you what you’ll be doing tomorrow so you don’t need to lay awake thinking about it or trying to figure it out.
- You’ll have less junk in your home/office. According to studies people only use about 20% of their belongings so there must be some things you could throw out or donate. The best part is once you get rid of the stuff you don’t need it won’t be cluttering up your space anymore so it will be easier to keep tidy and organized.

So you see being organized is good for you both physically and mentally. You’ll be healthier, happier, and have more time to spend with the people you love doing things you enjoy. Don’t you want that? I know I do so it’s time to get my space-time continuum aligned and start enjoying life to the fullest. Which of these steps are you going to work on first?
